Bare spessielt intressert jeg
jeg har mål om å klare en 9 er. skjønt det er vanskelig å få til fordi jeg tror ikke banene her i Norge er like godt preparert som eks i usa.
Dessuten kreves det endel trening for å få til.
Bilen er egentlig bygget for trackdays/show og ikke 402m :thumbup:

nI have recently got a mail from one of my sponsors, Now I will be the first to try out a 80mm turbo on a inline four engine.
80mm!!!! That is soo big, the turbo you see at the picture and in the movie is a 74mm turbo :shock1:
I have done some calculations to the compressormap, and found out an estimated flow rate or VE of the engine.
in that matter Im able to tell a estimated HP figure as well as where the compressor is most efficient in the power band..
Well with a 80mm inducer the turbo will be in its most efficient area at 2,3-2,4bar from 6-10800 rpm.
With a Aprox VE of 85%(It will probably be higher, but I dont want to make an overstatement in my calculations)
I will have a flowrating of 64lb/min at 5800rpm and a flowrating at 107lb/min at 9800rpm.
if you multiply the lb/min number by ten you get the aprox whp number.
Note. This is only calculations, dont hang me if I cant make these numbers in real life :whistling:
I will buy 200litres of VP import with a MON reading of 120+
(Mon is the true octane reading, says "Motor Octane Number", usally the fuel is rated RON (Research Octane Number) the pump octane reading is a calculation between RON and MON.
An effektive 120RON will brobbably be in 135-140oktane (RON)
That is highly considdered if im going to make anywhere near the hp planned.
4digit hp number isnt exactly easy or reliable in a 4syl, nearly 2litre engine. so If I will be any near it the VP import is inevitable.
As a substitute i could however used 100% pure alcohol such as E100 or methanol.
Anyways, I think this was a good opportunity to post some pics again

Why did you prefered a stock block with sleeves compered to the darton block? It´s beefier and you can have a tall deck and stroke it with a 95mm crank and still keep a rod/stroke ratio of ~1,75 The extra cost of that is not very much compered to otherparts you using..
If you have any pictures of an inline with a 80mm compressor, can you please PM me pictures of the car and dynopapers if available

I dont have any particular plans right now the only thing I want is to get this car ready for the track back here in Norway.
I might as well take a trip to Sweeden as I have a couple of connections back there.

This turbo has about the same capabillitys as a GT47 with the size of the GT45.Welen XLR8 Performance skrev:No I don´t... that is a drag turbo.. The turbo I talked about is on a volvo making around 1200hp. It is a carbon fiber volvo c70.

Well the turbo is not a Garret GT47, but it has the same capabilities as the 47R
And it should have a decent spooltime, It is wery special compared to the garret unit.
Another thing that will help with spool is the customade cams that I have, we have calculated around 2,4bar at 6000rpm and around 700whp there so just imagine what power it makes a little higher. :whistling:
But at the end we all have to see the dynochart to be able to see whats going on, Maybe things just dont work out as planned we`ll find out in a shourt amount of time hopefully. :omfg:

Lets see, here is the status of the car.
Engine is currently installed, with the solid motormounts.



Im going to clean everythingup, Im waiting for a Motec wiring harness for a substitute for the messy stock harness. anso Im going to remove the ABSpump and hardlines.
everything will eventually be covered up with CF mouldings, but for now I just want everything to run before doing the detailwork in the engine bay.


The manifold was welded lower than usual so that I could use larger turbo`s than with the stock manifolds.
But even so I had to masage and hammer the T- frontplate to fit the turbo.
Also I have to deassemble the turbo Ind reasemble it on the manifold to make it fit, It is about 2mm clearence to the T plate, luckily the solid mounts deny any engine movement what so ever.
I have also Installed DSS 1000whp + axles that can handle over 1000whp with just about any slicksize you want..
Also 2 pair of Omni drag suspension are fitted, Next year they will be replaced with Moton 2-way track suspension.
Just have to make everything work.

2 walbros are feeding one swirlpot, so that the 1400hp Aeromotive pro serie pump can feed directl from it by AN -12 couplings.

I will use a distributorless ignition system on this engine since I will rev it to aprox 10-11000rpm with about 40-50psi of boost.

I will use a distributorless ignition system on this engine since I will rev it to aprox 10-11000rpm with about 40-50psi of boost.

Things are starting to get together, but there is still a LOT of details and money that have to get in to place before firing up the beast.






There is not much workspace for me here, but since we are restauring the workshop to make it even more modern and clean I had to move my private stuff to my own garage :ranting:
With 0,5meters on each side and 1,5meters in the front I really had to be creative to get the engine inside.
