Hi all, forgive the English and if this topic exists already.

I have almost completely swapped my S2000 with LED bulbs for all lamps - except the front indicators. I bought correct LED bulbs for the front indicators - tested in the rear, so I know they work perfectly there. But in the front there seems to be an issue. To be clear - they have a built in canbus to cope with the control of the blinking and when in the rear they blink correctly (I run exactly the same bulbs in the rear indicators now).

When fitted to the front, the indicators run with a fast blink as if they are faulty or the canbus is not present - but ONLY when the HID main headlight bulbs are on! If I switch the lights into the park position so that only the small park bulbs are running (also converted to LED) the indicators blink perfectly. I guess it could be something to do with the current being drawn by the HID bulbs?

Does anyone have any ideas of how to solve this? See attached video that illustrates the problem. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hella strange!

Note this is just suggestion and a guess.

Try rotating the bulb. Some LEDs are directional.

Although this seems far fetched since they work in park.

Thanks and yes, very strange. I tried all sorts - used the rear bulbs up front, switched sides, etc etc etc.

I don't know enough to help you, but
that's the blinker behaviour you typically see when one or more bulbs are out
which suggests that it is, as you say, related to the current draw

The relay must work on some expected range of current and the high beam being on makes it work incorrectly.

No idea what to suggest, but hopefully some electrical gurus will come along and help...

What kind of bulbs are you using?
Have you tried using the LED bulbs in front only with the stock filament bulbs in the rear?

No, i did not actually. I will try that - sometime, when I have the energy to remove the whole front end just to change front bulbs... :/

I believe you pop the inner fender (1-2 clips) to change them on the S2000, have you tried that? It's in the manual probably
Or remove the whole fender liner. No need to remove anything, but maybe you knew this...

Sorry I cant help with the LED issue tho . Does it matter if you have the fender indicators OEM or LED for the headlight indicators to work?

AHH! did not, but since i was also changing the main beam H1 bulbs, the lights had to come out. Thanks, i will try this ASAP.
I can also switch the side indicators back to OEM and see if that changes anything.

No need to swap the side indicators, these can be swapped to LED without any fast blink issues.
If you get normal blink with front LED and filament rears, my guess is that these "built in canbus" bulbs needs a modified relay to work correctly.
You might need to check which one to get but here is an example: https://www.diodhuset.se/blinkersrela-led-japansk-bil
